“I believe in miracles. Ganga Prem Hospice has given me a new lease on life. I am grateful for this second chance.” -Rajiv Kohli
Meet Rajiv Kohli, a 45-year-old from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He had a thriving career in modelling, teaching yoga, and dance in Mumbai, Maharashtra since 2009. But life had other plans.
In 2023, Rajiv was diagnosed with advanced-stage cancer, forcing him to leave his career and move to his sister’s home in Kanpur. Despite their best efforts, delayed diagnosis hindered further treatment. Weak, immobile, and in severe pain, Rajiv’s condition seemed hopeless.
On May 2, 2024, Rajiv’s sister brought him to Ganga Prem Hospice for pain and symptom management. Here, his journey took a miraculous turn. With love, care, and support, Rajiv began to heal.
Today, Rajiv:
– Walks with ease
– Has gained weight
– Participates in hospice activities
– Practices yoga with patients and caregivers
– Decorates his room with vibrant cardboard craftworks
Recently, we celebrated Rajiv’s birthday at the hospice on September 11th, filling his heart with joy and gratitude. The surprise celebration brought tears of happiness to his eyes, reminding him of the love and support surrounding him.
“I never thought I’d celebrate another birthday,” Rajiv exclaimed. “Ganga Prem Hospice has given me so much more than just medical care – it’s given me hope, love, and a reason to live.”
