Celebrating World Health Day at GPH

At Ganga Prem Hospice, World Health Day 2025 was celebrated with a heartfelt focus on holistic healing through creative expression. This year’s theme, “Healing Through Art,” reflected the hospice’s ongoing commitment to supporting the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of its patients.

Held at the hospice premises in Rishikesh, the event brought together patients, caregivers, volunteers, and staff for a day centered around the transformative power of art in health and palliative care.

Art as a Medium of Healing

Guided by experienced facilitators, the day’s activities included painting sessions, clay modeling, and collaborative mural-making. Patients and their families were encouraged to express their emotions, memories, and hopes visually, regardless of their artistic background.

The initiative was more than just a recreational break; it offered a therapeutic outlet for individuals facing terminal illness, providing space for reflection, relaxation, and connection.

One caregiver shared, “Today, I saw my mother smile as she painted after many weeks. It was a moment of light in our difficult journey.”

Health, Dignity, and Wholeness

The celebration also included short awareness talks by the GPH medical and counseling team, emphasizing the importance of emotional wellness, mental health, and compassionate care as essential components of health—especially in the context of life-limiting illnesses.

The event was a reminder that health is not merely the absence of disease, but the presence of dignity, peace, and meaning. At Ganga Prem Hospice, every day is an effort toward this holistic view of care.

Community Support and Involvement

World Health Day 2025 at GPH was made possible with the generous support of local artists, volunteers, and donors. Their time and contributions helped transform the hospice into a space filled with color, creativity, and community spirit.

As we continue our mission to offer compassionate, end-of-life care, events like these reaffirm the power of art and human connection in promoting healing and hope, even in the face of life’s most challenging moments.
