World Cancer Day: Ganga Prem Hospice Spreads Awareness and Support
Ganga Prem Hospice (GPH) Celebrated World Cancer Day on February 4, 2025, with a series of three programs held at GPH, Bhartiya Gram Uthan Sanstha, Dalwala, Rishikesh, and at Apna Ghar, Nirmal Bagh, Rishikesh.
The GPH team organised a special activity with patients, caregivers, and staff, playing a meaningful card game called “Talk of a Life.” Patients shared inspiring stories, filling the day with laughter, kindness, and connection. Patients openly shared their life experiences, expressing happiness and deep emotions. Their stories sparked positivity and resilience among others.

The Anand Kashi by Ganges team joined us, bringing smiles and encouragement. They presented thoughtful gifts and refreshments, adding to the celebration. The event highlighted the power of human connection and the importance of supporting one another. At GPH, we strive to create a nurturing environment where patients, caregivers, and staff come together to inspire hope and resilience.
The second program was held at Bhartiya Gram Uthan Sansthan, where GPH Nursing Officer, Jaya Negi, delivered an informative session on cancer awareness. The session covered topics such as:
– What is cancer?
– Understanding breast and cervical cancer
– Identifying symptoms
– Prevention methods
This program aimed to raise awareness and empower the community with knowledge on cancer prevention and early detection.
The third program was held at INTAS Foundation (Apna Ghar: the CSR project of INTAS Foundation for Cancer Patients), where we (Team of Ganga Prem Hospice) were warmly welcomed as special guests and resource people for the event on the occasion of World Cancer Day.

We had meaningful interactions with cancer patients, mostly pediatric, listening to their life experiences and sharing information about Ganga Prem Hospice (GPH) and our services. The patients shared their needs, and we explored ways to support them. The Apna Ghar team also organized engaging activities (a vision board-making session), which we enthusiastically participated in alongside the patients and caregivers.
The program culminated with a heartfelt moment when a little girl, a cancer patient, expressed her gratitude towards Ganga Prem Hospice for providing services and support to patients and their caregivers. Her words touched our hearts and made the experience even more memorable.
