Vasant Panchami Celebration at GPH

Vasant Panchami Celebration at GPH
On 2nd February, the Ganga Prem Hospice (GPH) family celebrated Vasant Panchami, a festival that marks the arrival of spring and honors Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, music, and art.

To celebrate, we organized a small Saraswati Pooja in our IPD, inviting patients, their attendants, and our staff to participate. The celebration began with a prayer to the goddess, followed by a beautiful song sung by one of our patients. This heartfelt performance added a special touch to the event. Patients and attendants also shared stories and memories of the festival, which connected us all with the deeper meaning of the day.

Our staff joined in with songs, enhancing the festive atmosphere. It was a beautiful moment when everyone came together in gratitude and worship. The celebration concluded with the distribution of prasad, spreading a sense of peace and joy to all present.

The day before, we had also organized a creative art therapy session for the patients and their attendants. They were given kite-shaped sheets and encouraged to use their creativity on them. Some painted with their hands, without brushes, allowing for a more tactile and free expression, while others crafted their own designs. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to engage in artistic expression, bringing out their creativity in different forms.
The celebration of Vasant Panchami at GPH was not just a religious practice but a reminder of the power of knowledge, creativity, and the spirit of togetherness.
