Reaching New Heights in Health-care: Ganga Prem Hospice and Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Research Institute Conduct Successful Cancer Screening Camps in Uttarkashi
In a remarkable collaboration, Ganga Prem Hospice (GPH), Rishikesh, and Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Research Institute (RGCIRC), Delhi, joined forces with Mangala Kshema Trust (MKT) and Kuflon Charitable Trust (KCT) of Uttarkashi to conduct two-day cancer screening camps in the picturesque town of Uttarkashi.
The camps, held on consecutive days, aimed to make cancer screening accessible to the remote mountainous regions. The first day’s camp took place at Uttarkashi District Hospital, where doctors from RGCIRC and GPH examined approximately 150 patients, including three existing cancer patients seeking further consultation.
The second day’s camp was held at Gajoli Village, Block Batwari, Uttarkashi, a remote area lacking medical facilities within a 25-30 km radius. Despite the challenges, the team successfully screened around 160 villagers.
