Cancer Screening Camp Report: Eveready – Haridwar (16th Dec 2023)

Introduction:

On December 16th, 2023, a cancer screening camp was organized at Eveready in Haridwar, targeting the employees of the company. The camp aimed to promote early cancer detection and raise awareness about a healthy lifestyle. The event was conducted in collaboration with Ganga Prem Hospice and Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center (RGCIRC).

Attendance and Demographics: A total of 125 individuals were screened during the camp. Notably, 124 of them were male candidates, reflecting the majority male composition of Eveready’s workforce. The organizers made a commendable effort to address the specific health needs of the company’s staff.

Event Schedule:

11:00 am: The camp commenced with an insightful cancer awareness talk session led by Dr. Dhriti Dhawan, an ENT specialist from RGCIRC’s Preventive Oncology team. The session, tailored for Eveready employees and managers, lasted for 30 minutes and covered crucial information about cancer prevention and early detection.

11:30 am: Following the awareness session, the cancer screening camp officially began. Employees were released in batches of five to ensure that the production workflow at Eveready remained unaffected. This strategic approach demonstrated a thoughtful consideration for the operational needs of the company.

Post-Lunch: The screening process continued into the post-lunch period, accommodating the second-shift workers to maximize participation and coverage.

Plantation Activity:

At the conclusion of the camp, Mr. Amit Kotha, the Plant Head, organized a plantation activity. Dr. Taranjeet Singh and Dr. Dhriti Dhawan actively participated in the plantation, symbolizing a commitment to environmental sustainability and community well-being.

Conclusion: The cancer screening camp at Eveready – Haridwar, organized in collaboration with Ganga Prem Hospice and RGCIRC, emerged as a successful initiative. Not only did it provide valuable health insights to the employees, but the organized approach also minimized disruption to the company’s operations. The high turnout of participants reflects the importance and acceptance of such health initiatives within the workforce.
