Nourishing Minds and Bodies: Ganga Prem Hospice Celebrates Nutrition Week
September’s first week brought more than just a change in calendar pages; it marked Nutrition Week, a nationwide initiative promoting healthy eating habits. At Ganga Prem Hospice, Dietitian Nandani saw an opportunity to make learning fun.
Nandani crafted a unique game, “Nutrition Knowledge Exchange,” to engage patients and caregivers. Colorful play cards featuring fruits, vegetables, and fast food items were distributed, and participants were asked to share their knowledge about the card they held.
Some of the patients, enthusiastically shared the benefits of spinach, while their caregiver, explained the importance of carrots for healthy vision. Others discussed the nutritional value of bananas and the pitfalls of excessive fast food consumption.
The room buzzed with excitement as patients and caregivers exchanged information, asking questions and learning from each other. Laughter and smiles filled the air, making the experience enjoyable and interactive.
One of our caregiver shared, “It’s wonderful to share our knowledge and learn from others. Thank you for conducting such small yet impactful programs.”
Nutrition is not just about food; it’s about connection and care. The team of Ganga Prem Hospice were thrilled to see patients and caregivers embracing this spirit.
