Ganga Prem Hospice
Yogeshwar Prasad Barathwal has been associated
with the Ganga Prem Hospice cancer clinics ever
since the service was first started in September
2007. As an employee of the Punjab Sindh Kshetra,
it was Yogeshwar Prasad who was entrusted with
the responsibility of assisting the organization
of the clinic work for Ganga Prem Hospice in Rishikesh,
on behalf of the Punjab Sindh Kshetra and Nanki
Devi Charitable Hospital.
Since then, Yogeshwar has been giving his services
to the Hospice as a volunteer and doing the behind-the-scenes
organizing work in an efficient and quiet manner.
Publicising the clinic through visual advertisements
and banners in Rishikesh, handling the accounts
and clinic expenses and several other administrative
tasks have been part of Yogeshwar's work
profile for the Hospice, first as a volunteer
and since September 2009, as a part-time employee.
"I would see how Dr Dewan comes for the
cancer clinic every month whether it was rain
or shine, and that left a deep impression on me
and I have been trying to do my best for the clinic,"
says Yogeshwar who lives in Rishikesh with his
family of three little daughters and a wife.
His day starts early in the Punjab Sindh Kshetra
premises office where he has been employed since
1994 when he was an under-graduate student in
Rishikesh. Yogeshwar went on to get a Masters
degree in Sociology and made Rishikesh his home.
Yogeshwar Prasad now handles the day-to-day administration
tasks of Ganga Prem Hospice in Rishikesh and is
